The Alliance, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Medical Society, advocates and promotes good health among the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Internationally renowned nutrition scientist Dr. Walter Willett to speak in West End
West End Community Center (next to MGH), 75 Blossom Ct., Boston, Mass. – April 10, 2026, 11:30 a.m.
The Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance will host a luncheon and lecture featuring Dr. Walter Willett, one of the world’s most respected leaders in nutrition science and public health at the West End Community Center in Boston. Dr. Willett is Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Over the course of his distinguished career, his research has profoundly shaped
modern understanding of how diet influences long-term health. His work on dietary patterns, chronic disease prevention, and sustainable food systems has helped guide nutrition recommendations around the world. This event is organized by the Massachusetts

Health Promotion
Our volunteers work to promote healthy communities. The Alliance has initiated a number of campaigns addressing a variety of
health and safety related issues including:

Legislation
Our members develop awareness of legislative issues affecting health care today through frequent online updates and alerts, educational workshops, and advocacy training.
Foundations
The Alliance is committed to the
MMS & Alliance Charitable Foundation, which awards grants to non-profit organizations to creatively address issues that affect the health and welfare of the community and benefit the
medically uninsured. The Alliance also supports the American Medical Association Foundation, which provides funds directly to medical schools, as well as monies for research grants, scholarships, and student loans.
