Everyone has a responsibility to reduce the misuse of prescription drugs in Massachusetts. Patients, caregivers and families can limit the supply of drugs by learning how to safely store and dispose of their prescription medications. Physicians also have
a responsibility to understand prescribing practice guidelines. Preventing opioid use disorder through education and early intervention is one step towards ending this epidemic. Everyone can also learn about overdose prevention by knowing how to respond
