Positive Newborn Screen - Now What?
- If you
receive this notice, do you know what to do?
- Do you feel
confident discussing the results with the parents?
- Do you know
where to go if you have questions?
- Who do I
refer this patient to?
This webinar, recorded on April 3, 2024, describes the Newborn Screening
(NBS) process in each New England state
and hosts a panel of representatives from NBS programs in Connecticut, Rhode
Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. Participants are
provided with basic information about the NBS process and given resources for
accessing additional information on specific genetic conditions and how to help
determine next steps. In addition, learners are provided clear guidance on what
and how to communicate to anxious new parents so that you are both empowered to
provide the best care.
