Educational training opportunities and resources

  • The Practitioner’s Guide to Global Health is a three-part multidisciplinary timeline-based, interactive, evaluative, open-access course to prepare students and trainees to participate in global health learning experiences safely and effectively. The course is free-of-charge.
  • Global Ambassadors for Patient Safety™ provides an online workshop about what you need to be aware of when gaining experience in another country. The GAPS online workshop was created in coordination with the Learning Abroad Center and is designed for all students who are going abroad to volunteer in a healthcare setting.
  • The Global Health Program training modules on ethical dilemmas and tropical medicine.
  • The International Federation of Medical Students’ Association UNESCO Pre-Departure Training is for students attending exchanges/electives abroad has been pioneered with the goal of increasing students’ ability to face ethical and cultural challenges in their host countries with greater confidence and to protect the patients they encounter.
