January 2024
An important task for me as MMS president-elect is to appoint members to the Society’s committees. Our committees promote member interests and MMS policy positions to the public, business, legislature and state agencies.
Because the perspectives, ideas, and input of resident physicians and fellows are vital to committee success, I am hopeful that many of you will be willing to serve and actively engage. We will be looking for diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and
skillsets. Please review the list of MMS committees. If you are interested in serving on a committee,
please complete an application form and return it to Society headquarters together with a copy of your CV and a statement of
interest by Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
To encourage appropriate representation of the Resident and Fellow Section (RFS), all residents and fellow committee appointments will be made in conjunction with input from MMS Resident and Fellow Section leadership. Up to two residents or fellows may
be appointed per committee.
In order to facilitate your participation, the Society will reimburse mileage, tolls and parking costs that may be incurred if you travel to and from in-person committee meetings, and committee meetings can also be attended virtually.
Your involvement in Society’s programs, activities, and committees will help to shape the future of medicine. I look forward to working with you.
