Today’s announcement by CVS and Walgreens regarding their plans to dispense mifepristone at pharmacies across the Commonwealth will have a significant impact, expanding equitable access to safe medical care for patients. Increasing the availability of mifepristone, an FDA-approved medication used for abortion with a 20-plus year record of safety and efficacy, will bolster the Commonwealth’s staunch commitment to ensuring protection of and access to a full spectrum of reproductive health care for all patients.
