The Massachusetts Medical Society calls upon Compass Medical to expedite and clarify its communications with patients and members of health care teams affected by the sudden closing of its operations. Interruption of care, especially for chronically ill
and otherwise vulnerable patients, poses a serious risk. We believe Compass Medical has an ethical obligation to provide specific and realistic guidance to its patients about how to contact their physician, access prescription medications, obtain
medical records, ensure continuity of care, and, importantly, be available and accountable to patients who need help in navigating this situation.
