Bombaugh was president of the medical society at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and emerged as a leading national voice in calling attention to and pushing to correct the dangers of personal protective equipment scarcity.
“Dr. Bombaugh’s pro-active, inclusive leadership during Massachusetts’ COVID-19 outbreak proved how well-matched she was, to drive statewide policies for health equity, anti-racism, and physician protections,” Dr. Patricia R. Falcao said. “Dr. Bombaugh
rapidly convened an MMS Presidential Advisory Group, leading coordination of timely membership and organizational expertise in Emergency Preparedness, while leading MMS’ expanded multimedia communications outreach, inter-agency collaborations,
ongoing membership updates, physician wellness supports, and ensuring important patient and physician data-driven collaboration on the Governor’s Council for Re-opening.”

right.
