Beginning with physicians who renew their licenses in January
2011, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine will no
longer send renewal notices in letter form. The Board will now mail
a bright yellow postcard indicating the date a physician's license
expires (his or her birthday), and with instructions for using the
Board's online license renewal system.
This will be the only notice physicians will
receive.
Physicians should make sure the Board has an up-to-date mailing
address. If an address has changed since the last renewal,
physicians must notify the Board to ensure that they receive a
renewal postcard well before license expiration.
Physicians may renew their licenses online up to 60 days prior
to expiration. Postcard renewal notices were sent starting the week
of October 25, 2010, for physician licenses up for renewal in
January 2011.
Physicians who have not used the online renewal system before
can go to www.massmedboard.org/renewals
and follow the instructions. The system is available 24/7, and
allows changes to addresses and other information even if a
physician is not in the renewal period.
