Congratulations to Hannah Slattery, MMS Medical Student Section chapter officer at Tufts University School of Medicine, and her colleagues from the Association of Native American Medical Students, who met with over 20 congressional offices in
Washington, D.C., on February 21 to push for federal graduate medical education funding for the Indian Health Service — currently receiving $0 compared to the Veterans Health Administration’s $874 million. Their goal is to build sustainable
physician pathways and address the severe provider shortage in Native communities.
