Dr. Rakesh Talati honored by Franklin District Medical Society as 2024 Community Clinician of the Year
WALTHAM – Dr. Rakesh Talati, a Western Mass. native who has been chief and medical director of the Baystate Franklin Medical Center Emergency Department since 2012, and is the chief medical technology officer for Baystate Health, has been selected
as the Franklin District Medical Society’s 2024 Community Clinician of the Year.
Talati graduated from Wesleyan University before attending Tufts University Medical School. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center in 2005. In 2013, he earned an MBA with a specialization in healthcare
management from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass.
Franklin District Medical Society Announces Scholarships
The Franklin District Medical Society, the local chapter of the Massachusetts Medical Society, is pleased to announce that applications are now available for its Student Grant Aid Program. The "Percy W. Wadman, M.D. Scholarship" is awarded to a medical
student(s) based on merit and financial need. Grants range from $1,000 to $2,500 and are awarded annually. The following criteria must be met for an individual to be considered:
- At least one parent or guardian must live in Franklin County.
- A letter of matriculation must be submitted from the medical school the individual is attending.
- A copy of the letter of recommendation from the undergraduate school to the medical school must be submitted.
